Manchester is one of the most vibrant city’s in Europe and has a lot to shout about these days. By day, a stroll around reveals architectural grandeur around every corner, whether it’s a modern gem (Libeskind’s Imperial War Museum North, URBIS or The Lowry) or old-style Victorian splendour. Big retail names like Selfridges and Harvey Nichols have recently opened up in the city and its bar and restaurant scene has transformed Manchester into a truly European city.
In less than 15 minutes on foot you’re right in the heart of the city centre and only minutes from the conference quarter (GMEX and MICC). En route you’ll take in some of the city’s most interesting boutique shops, plus plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes.
